A Perfect Day

Last week I drove up to Santa Barbara to visit Dion and her two adorable children, Ruby and Milo. I have visited several times over the years, and it is so fun to watch Dion with her children. Since Milo is nearly four years old, it is very interesting to sneak a preview of what it's like to be a mother of a toddler. As a labor and delivery nurse, I see babies all the time. Many of my friends have small babies, under the age of one. Playing smash ball and football on the beach and in the back yard are reminders of how fun and unique each stage of growth can be.

Ruby, who just turned one, was quite the communicator. She tells her mom what she wants by gestures and cries as she walks about the house on her sturdy legs. Her legs are adorable, since they are new to walking, and still plump from days of being carried, drinking warm milk and napping. Ruby still wanted to be carried quite a bit. Dion, who is clever at inventing ways to get things done, hoisted Ruby into a hiking back pack in order to cook dinner.

The visit was loads of fun, and I gained a new appreciation for working out with a double stroller! Happy Birthday, Dion! Here's to another fabulous year of yoga, motherhood, and good times with friends!

  1. I love you Ade, thank you for your visits.

Milo is almost 3 not 4. Minor correction.
