We are creating our own version of the office. Josh and I bought some McDowell & Craig metal desks. We are shifting and shredding. The tankers are side by side - a "his and hers" version. I also bought a brown leather chair that is padded a bit. I am hoping it will keep me sitting and writing a bit longer. We also welcomed out trusty brown futon back into the living room. After a few trips to the "Goodwill," we are still far from calling ourselves "minimalists," but we are feeling a few pounds lighter. That is...if you don't count the two new tankers and all of the delicious Christmas cookie plates, made by friends and family!

Happy New Year
New Year's Eve is not typically my most favorite of holidays! Somehow, this one turned out to be fun. It's getting more and more difficult to stay awake. Next year, I won't have to work on the first, so I might actually be out and about by midnight. This year, we had a wonderful dinner with good friends. I am looking forward to a fresh start in 2011. Some of my goals include:
1. sleep in more often (very ambitious, I know.)
2. write more short fiction
3. dress up a bit more or at least put more effort into it
4. being kinder to everyone, including myself
5. slow down, go to the beach or sit on the couch and read more books.
6. more yoga, blogging, and book reading
7. travel more and simplify belongings
8. spend time with good friends and family
9. pay off debt, and become financially savvy
10. don't worry, be happy

Deck the Halls
Following the walking tour, I was inspired to make hot cider, popcorn and decorate for Christmas. I am trying not to be that person who decorates the night before Chirstmas, and then has no issues with keeping the decorations up until Valentine's day. When I am finished decorating, I will post more photos.
